World Peace! Is it Possible? 

The Secret to World Peace is in the Bible

 Humble Yourself, Pray, Turn from Your Wicked Ways

2 Chronicles 7:14 

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

This is the answer to World Peace!  It is clearly stated here in the bible. It is simple and straightforward.  God simply tells us to humble ourselves, pray and “seek his face “( that means to follow his commandments and know that you are  going to heaven when you die so that you can one day see his face.)  

God is talking to us all when he says “my people”.  He created us all!, not just Christians but all mankind! We all are his people. Some people  think this is just for Christians, but no, it is for all of us, but especially Christians should live by this and we as Christians should rest assured that when turmoil and trials come that we can have faith and believe that God is the one truly in control of everything around us.

Some people get upset when they see people who are elected to high duties such as presidents, dictators and world leaders begin to take control of the country and do as they please and cause kaos among the people. We have recessions, wars, hunger, and world natural disasters.  Some people begin to worry and worry and say, “What are we going to do?” or “What is the world coming to?” or “ Why did they elect this person and put them in charge?”  Well, my friend, I have a response to that!  God is still in control!

Once we come to the realization of this, we can have a peace of mind and not worry about what goes on in our surroundings. We can rest peacefully in our beds at night. We don’t have to go to work and stand around the water cooler, or espresso maker and talk about how bad the country has become and worry about what will happen next.

We as believers in Christ know that our redeemer lives and he is working everything out for our good. Remember HE wins in the end and that means WE win in the end.

So all we as a people have to do is ;

1. Humble Ourselves - this means we need to change our attitudes, become more meek and mild. Become open to what God has to say to us. Not be so stubborn and open our minds to what God wants us to do. Follow his commands. “Come down off your high horse,” so to speak. 

2. Pray - Everyone knows what it means to pray, but does everyone understand the importance of Prayer?  This is another whole sermon, but Prayer is the key, it is the open communication we have with God to talk to him and he talks back to us to lead and guide us in everything! 

3. Seek my face - This means we have to seek God for everything as well. We need to follow him and his commandments for our lives. We need to read our bible for instructions on how to live our lives. We need to have a desire to go to heaven when we die and then we need to rest in the assurance that we will go to heaven and see HIM when we die by simply accepting God and his son Jesus as our personal savior and follow his commandments.

4. Turn from their wicked ways - This means simply stop sinning! It is as simple as that! We all know deep down inside when we are sinning! We all know when we are not doing the right thing.  Almost everyone has something inside of us called a conscious,  It tells you when you are thinking or about to do something wrong. We may choose to ignore it and do it anyway but God equipped us all with it.  Christians were given a gift called the “holy spirit” that acts as a comforter or monitor that convicts us when we think about doing wrong. We still have a choice to listen to it or not to listen to it. 

 Finally, God tells us how to have peace in our lives and live in harmony with each other. It is our roadmap to ‘World Peace”, but will we ever obtain it? That is the big question. But we do have a floor plan to obtain it. We simply have to follow God’s floor plan as he described in these verses.
