Oh! The Blood!
Have you ever seen someone faint or get weak at the sight of blood? I have many, many times as a nurse. I saw blood on a daily basis in my 35 year career as a nurse.
I have seen 6 feet 5 , three-hundred-pound men literally pass out on the floor, at the sight of blood or the sight of a needle.
Seeing blood all the time made me immune to seeing it after a while, I was not grossed out at the sight of it anymore.
Did you all know that the best way to clean blood stains out is by using peroxide? I learned that from working in a hospital and I would get blood stains on
my crisp white nurse's uniforms all the time! We nurses had to wear white uniforms back in the day, (aging myself), now we wear colored scrubs.
Question: What about sin? What will wash or clean that away?
Answer: Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
You see blood can cleanse out things too!
The blood of Jesus is Powerful, very powerful. How powerful is it? Glad you asked.
Matthew 26:28 *NIV)
28 This is my blood of the[covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
In this verse, Jesus is talking to his disciples at the last supper. He is telling them that the wine, represents the blood that he used to make a
covenant with God and the people that the blood he shed on the cross would be for the forgiveness of our sins.
Another example we find in 1 John 1:7 (NIV) 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the
blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
This verse is saying that if we walk in God's light, we have a friendship and each other and the blood of Jesus which cleans us from all sin.
Jesus's blood cleanses us from ALL sin.
Here are a few more verses on his blood and the power of his blood. Acts 20:28, Collosians 1:20, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 9:14, 9: 22, 10:19, 13:12, Leviticus 17:11 and Luke 22:10.
So many people spoke about the importance of the blood in the bible.
The blood is so powerful because it holds healing, salvation, forgiveness, deliverance, protection, joy, love, peace. I could go on and on. It
holds All of that because Jesus died on the cross and shed his blood for us on Calvary when he bled after being crucified and by his blood,
we are redeemed as he became our sacrificial lamb for the redemption of our sins.
I heard these words all of my life growing up in the church, participating in communions every Sunday at church, but it was not until about 10-
15 years ago, that I actually came into the knowledge of it's true meaning, and what the blood actually represented. It was like it went in one
ear and out the other. It just never really sank into my spirit.
One day, I had a "light bulb moment", as Orprah Winfrey used to say. The light actually came on for me and one morning after prayer, as I
was praying about one particular thing. The words - "Blood and there is Power in the Blood", stood out so clear to me on this particular
morning. I thought Wow! All this time I never thought deeply about it before. I knew there was power in prayer, but Power in the Blood!
The blood represents everything!
God has left us with so many wonderful gifts and promises, all we have to do is accept them and use them. Open the gifts God gave us and
use them. When someone gives you a gift, don't you get excited and open it immediately? And if it is something you needed and hoped for,
you were so excited to get it!
We need to open up the gifts God has given us, and one of them is his mighty and powerful blood. Plead the blood of Jesus over your body,
your health, household, family, job, marriage, relationships, finances, any and everything in your life and watch God change it for the better
for you!
